Daniel Shoshan a multidisciplinary artist whose body of work includes installations, painting performance and a variety of public art projects. His artworks deals with questions associated with identity and derives from diverse cultural sources – local and universal, Western and Oriental, secular and religious.
Shoshan established the AXA-LAB Architecture and Experimental Art Lab. Within this framework he creates unique body of work that focusing on urbanism ,public space, art installations and curatorial thinking.
Currently he has been working on a wide-scale exhibition titled ‘Ashdod Project’, which will be held in 2017 at the Ashdod Museum of Modern Art. This exhibition is based upon collaborative art and architecture and will engage the city’s inhabitants in order to create a ‘city’ profile. For this exhibition, he is developing word software called ASHDOD4WORDS, which allows characterizing and identifying the ties of the city’s residents to the urban space, and the relationship existing between the community and the site. This software will contribute as a research tool associating the labs activity with the concept of smart cities.
